The whole story of the visit, in every claim.
Ruby listens to the conversation you're already having with your patient, and turns it into a clean, payer-ready claim you only have to review and sign.
How it works
The visit is the paperwork.
Listen
With the patient's consent, Ruby captures the visit as it happens. There's nothing to dictate afterward and nothing to type during the visit.
Draft
Ruby pulls out the clinical details a payer looks for and selects the relevant codes. It shows the exact moment in the conversation behind each one, then builds the claim to that specific insurer's requirements.
Review and sign
You read the draft, adjust anything you like, and sign. Nothing is sent without your approval.
Track
After submission, you can follow each claim's status and resubmit or appeal in a few clicks.
Ready on day one
No implementation team, no setup fees, no weeks of configuration. Record a visit and see a draft claim in the same sitting.
Security first
Built with security as a priority from the first line of code, with HIPAA-aligned practices on the roadmap to launch.
You stay in charge
Ruby drafts; the provider decides. Every claim carries your review and your signature.
Our mission
Do no admin.
Medical providers are some of the most vital workers in our society, and they spend years training for their roles. Yet an enormous share of their time goes to administrative work.
For every eight hours physicians spend with patients, they spend nearly six hours working in the electronic health record. As necessary as this work is, it is highly repetitive and far away from why people choose medicine.
Ruby uses technology to bridge the gap a growing healthcare system created.
The provider maintains oversight, the claim tells the whole story, and the time goes back to where it belongs: practicing medicine.
About
Hi, I'm Kaycee :)
While I was a pre-med student, I saw how much of providers' lives is taken up by administrative work. I founded Ruby to minimize the paperwork medical workers do so they can spend more time on patient care.
Why Ruby
Surprisingly, my heart isn't in claims. It is unwaveringly devoted to removing the bottlenecks from society's most important processes.
Up until I shadowed in hospitals, I dreamed of being a doctor. Seeing the reality of what providers actually need to do their work, I knew that there was something they needed more than my hands.
I found myself facing a similar issue while doing research at UCSF. Seeing that the solution was likely rooted in technology, I began working at a company that supported scientists with their documentation and compliance practices. Still, I couldn't shake the original problem I set out to solve. This time, I could approach it with the eyes of a much more experienced woman.
In tech, I saw just how impactful conversation-tracking and administration tools were for streamlining repeatable processes. I spent my nights and weekends wondering how to apply them to the familiar administrative problems in medicine. Days turned into weeks and dreams into plans, and little by little, Ruby came to be.
What Ruby stands for
To us, good partnership means being willing to figure out how to figure it out for the things that matter. At Ruby, these are:
- Enabling high-quality, effective patient care
- Making sure providers are reliably paid for their services
- Cutting out non-essential work for medical workers
Businesses, products, systems and processes are not static; in fact, their only constant is change. To do them well, we're dedicated to staying curious about how we can improve, and to learning at every stage.
We value genuine connections. Beyond giving you a solution that earnestly makes your life easier, we provide knowledgeable service your business can rely on.
Why "Ruby"
Ruby is named after my beloved 1971 Schwinn Suburban. When I came to San Francisco alone at 22, she was my first friend, and I have loved her every day since. The joy, stability and longevity she so clearly demonstrates is exactly what I want my customers to experience using our software.
